On Friday 28th May, Greenethorpe PS combined with Wombat, Murringo, Monteagle and Koorawatha Public Schools to contest the 75th annual Phillips Shield in Young. It was a cold and showery day, however this didn't dampen our students spirits as they competed in all events with enthusiasm and a determination to do their best. Congratulations to Emily who was named Senior Girl Champion and Outstanding Athlete of the Carnival; Sophie who was Intermediate Girls Champion and Fletcher who won the Junior Boys championship! The girls of GPS also deserve a huge congratulations as their combined pointscore on the day meant that we also won the Rose Bowl Trophy (highest pointscore for girl competitors). The final trophy awarded on the day was the Phillips Shield, and for the third year running, Greenethorpe PS students took out top honours. Thank you to the parents who came along and supported our students on the day, and well done to everyone on a fantastic effort, once again!
